15 Holistic Ways to Adapt to Life’s Curveballs & Be Stress-Free

As we age we naturally lose our resilience… if we let it. We hear it ALL the time, “When you get to my age, you’ll understand the pains we go through. Enjoy those trash foods & poor lifestyle choices while you can! Blah Blah Blah." I don't know about you, but I plan on living a long life—but it’s not just the years in life that matter, it’s also the life in those years. Make them count.

  1. Build Your Microbiome: Increase diversity with whole foods such as organic plants, fiber, and enzymes/probiotics (there are 300-500 different species of bacteria in gut, 10x the number of cells in the eukaryotic body--give them what they deserve)

  2. Prevent Muscle Wasting: Focus on Resistance Training and Weight Lifting Regularly

  3. Increase Antioxidant Intake: wild blueberries, ceylon cinnamon, cacao, wild caught salmon, tart cherry juice, etc etc.

  4. Adapt to Extreme Temperatures: Cold and Heat Therapy (morning cold shower and evening sauna sesh)

  5. Eat 0.7-1g of Quality Protein/lb of Bodyweight: Boost metabolism, increase fullness, repair body

  6. Supplements: NAC, magnesium, Purium Superfoods, collagen, niacin or nicotinamide riboside (form of vitamin B: increases NAD to repair DNA)

  7. Increase Aerobic Capacity & Breathwork: Boxing is my favorite!

  8. Walk in Nature: 10,000 steps minimum for a long life!

  9. Soak Up the Sunshine: Aim for a minimum of 30 min direct sun every day (we are photosynthetic beings!)

  10. Overcome Challenges & Don’t Remain Comfortable: You can’t grow when you're sitting cozy, you have to get uncomfortable to be stress-free in the long-run!

  11. Meditation & Mindfulness: Be aware and present with everything you do on a daily basis and take the time to sit alone and in peace (inwardness will give you the answers)

  12. Journal: Release those internal workings on paper!

  13. Reduce Blue Light Exposure: Get a pair of blue light blockers (Ra Optics is the best on market) and turn on the amber lights on screens (f.lux can be downloaded on laptops)

  14. Stretch It Out & Practice Yoga: Release tension and tap into those nitty gritty knots!

  15. Stop Wearing a Mask: I am not just referring to the false sense of 'viral security' on your face, I am alluding to fasade we put on which hides our true emotions and personalities. Express your true self and don’t hold back. BE YOURSELF AND LIVE FREE!
