Clean Water Ripples a Clear Mind: What is real water?

Water is life. Actually, clean, fresh & filtered water—free from fluoride, VOCs, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, & other contaminants—is life. Tap water & plastic water bottles are not your friend (OR the environment's); gov. regulations only focus on protecting us from water borne bacterial diseases, not this other problematic shizzle. So what do we do?

Ever since I took the first deep dive into these water shenanigans (no pun intended), I couldn’t turn back. Once you understand the basic science and energetic power of water, you become entrenched. Water holds wisdom. I know, it sounds hippy-dippy, but think of it this way: each water molecule travels on its own path with different packs.

But before I discuss the metaphysical nature of water, let's talk about tangible science first. Water holds many forms beside two hydrogens bound to oxygen. So, as you know, the most common formula for water is H2O, but it can also be H3O2, OH-, -OH2+ and dozens of other configurations of hydrogen and oxygen!!

We also need to consider the unique isotopes of hydrogen. Isotopes are sets of atoms with the same numbers of protons and electrons, but different numbers of neutrons. In most cases a hydrogen atom has one proton and one electron. For instance, there are 3 different isotopes of hydrogen:

1) Common Hydrogen (protium): one proton and electron

2) Deuterium: one neutron, one proton, and one electron

3) Tritium (two neutrons, one proton and one electron

(Oxygen also has three isotopes—16O, 17O, and 18O. All three of these stable isotopes have 8 protons and 8 electrons; they have 8, 9, and 10 neutrons respectively.)

Okay, now that I've blown your mind with the crazy science of water to display that water is much more complex than simply 'H2O'... let's talk metaphysical.

Water gets converted into an infinite amount of different forms on this beautiful planet earth. Let’s say you drink fresh water from a crisp mountain spring, cupping it up straight from an ice cold, mini waterfall.

Where did that water come from? Well, each water molecule could have traveled from a copious amount of places: rainfall from hundreds of feet above our heads, maybe hundreds of feet below ground in reservoirs, or perhaps some molecules could have migrated from a peeing rabbit on the side of that mini waterfall stream. Yes, you read that right… water converts from pee, from the intracellular microscopic pockets in your body, or even from the dead plant matter that eventually evaporates or decomposes into the soil. Water thrives from a never-ending cycle. Water is neither created nor destroyed, it's just converted into different energetic forms. If that doesn’t blow your mind, holy mackerel.

Okay, so if water is so dang flabbin' precious, how do we attain the best possible rejuvenating water especially when our tap water is carrying so many toxins like chlorine, fluoride, pharmaceuticals and heavy metals? And what about the tons and tons AND tons of wasted plastic bottled water destroying the environment and our health from big companies like Dasani and Nestle? It is not sustainable, so let's talk about what is and is not...

Water that is completely filtered (i.e. reverse osmosis) without ANY precious electrolytes or minerals is basically useless for our body. It is not absorbed efficiently; aka it’s less bioavailable. We humans require healthy amounts of naturally occurring trace minerals like sodium, magnesium, chloride, potassium, calcium, phosphate and bicarbonates—all which are stripped away in overly-filtered water. We must add back these guys in order to properly absorb water!

Okay, with all this in mind, let's complete this blog with the best and bogus waters and water filtration systems you can invest in today for the health of you and your family! Clean water is life…

Authentic Real Waters

There are 2 ways to get rid of the greatest number of contaminants:

  1. Distillation + activated carbon

  2. Reverse osmosis + activated carbon

Keep in mind, this water is unbelievably pure… not in a bad way, but that it has absolutely no electrolytes or minerals. So, the biggest key is to remineralize the water with trace minerals such as Celtic sea salt or Redmond’s real salt. I don’t recommend himalayan sea salt because it can have iron oxide contamination and is prone to causing environmental issues.

The best water filter systems on the market are Berkey, Enagic and AquaTru. Yes, quite expensive but they last a lifetime. Personally, because of this reason, I just use a filter you can get from Walmart or ThriveMarket.com that removes 58+ contaminants and filters out 95% of lead in tap water. This is a cheap and viable option and can fit in a Brita designed pitcher.

Phony Fake Waters

The phoniest filters are the ones that are marketed as “Alkaline” or what I like to consider “the scientific misconception that became a multi-billion dollar business.” Celebrities hype it. Grandmas rave about it. Everyone talks about it, but alkaline water DOES NOT alkalize the body. Just because something is alkaline does not mean it is “alkalizing”! Our body immediately takes away that high pH and turns it into our homeostatic level around 7.35-7.45. Alkalinity happens from trace minerals (with a buffering capacity to increase pH) like magnesium, potassium and sodium along with carbonates and bicarbonates.

The best way to alkalize our bodies is through a plant-rich diet loaded with cruciferous veggies and fresh green juices with things like (acidic) lemon juice! Ironic right, acid makes us alkaline.

This bring up hydrogen-rich water. This stuff is the real-deal alkalizing water. The additional hydrogens, aka H+, dissolved in H2O can improve our overall biomarkers because of the hydrogen’s super antioxidant potential. Use hydrogen tablets like Quicksilver Scientific Quinton H2 Elite. To conclude this blog, get Hy!
