It’s unbelievable the amount of health-boosting gadgets available in this day & age. 2020 has opened up endless gates to self-optimization & longevity. If you’re looking to expand beyond nutrition, exercise & supplements, take a look at these 7 biohacks that can take your energy, recovery & endurance to another level.

1. Cryotherapy

Whole body cold therapy treatment proven to reduce joint and muscle pain, boost energy and metabolism, and increase the body’s natural healing abilities. Throw inflammation out the window with a short (yet mentally long) 3 minutes in this icy nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas chamber. The best part is, you can do this cold therapy daily!
This is one of my favorite modalities for fat loss and mental clarity. Whenever I’m feeling a little run-down or out of tune, a frigid 3 minutes in this zen den puts me into my zone. I personally use this as an alternative to a cup of joe in the afternoon as a little pick me up. You’ll feel the shakes, tighter and more elastic skin and an endorphin rush in no time. Stay chillin’.
2. Photobiomodulation (PBM)

Otherwise known as ‘red light therapy,’ PBM uses red and near infrared light to reduce pain, inflammation. It also helps immensely with recovery and stress. Working at a cellular level, PBM stimulates the healing of wounds and soft tissues.
One of the best feelings in the world is getting a nice, big hug from someone, right? You get that surge of warmth and compassion running through your veins to your fingertips and toes. Well, that’s kinda how you feel during every PBM session when these big panels of red bulbs hug your tissues with 600-nanometer particles.
The best part is, it can be done on the daily. All it takes is as little as 2-4 treatments to see an improvement in skin because of the amplification in collagen repair (burns, cuts, acne, eczema, bruises, etc). Some people may require 12 sessions to see significant restoration if they have chronic conditions. 2-5 sessions a week minimum will do, 20 minutes to an hour.
3. IV Drip Therapy

¾ of Americans are walking around chronically dehydrated. This is where the beauty of IV drip therapy comes in. Staying hydrated is essential for digestion, metabolism, detoxification and waste removal. Without water-filled cells, you can experience a variety of health issues like fatigue, headaches, joint pain, ulcers, weight gain, high blood pressure, and kidney and bladder decline.
The cool part is, you can add a whole slew of different vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, or other health-promoting nutrients to these drips. It’s more than H2O! Plus it’s 100% bioavailable directly into your bloodstream compared to the 15-20% bioavailability of oral administration. This means you’ll have immediate results— a surge in energy, mood, cognition or pain relief.
4. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

If you’re looking to speed up recovery, relieve pain and inflammation, fight infection and improve blood flow, then HBOT is for you! This is a non-invasive therapy, which means you don’t need any fancy or strange instruments plugged into your body. HBOT is an oxygen-rich chamber that compromises 90-95% pure O2, unlike the standard air you breathe which is typically around 21%. This excess pressure floods 10x more oxygen into all your cells, tissues, blood plasma, and fluids. With more oxygen, all of your cells’ mitochondria can produce more energy which allows your body to heal quicker and more effectively. You’ll sleep better, have a stronger immune army and have a tremendous amount of energy. However, the key is to make it a habit— HBOT daily for 60-90 minutes is best.
5. Compression Therapy

The particular compression therapy I will discuss in this article is based around the NormaTec Recovery System. This techy biohack helps maximize recovery beyond athletes— it helps non-athletes too! It’s basically a specially designed massage that uses sequential pulse technology. It synergistically combines three distinct techniques to speed the body’s normal recovery process: pulsing compression, gradients and distal release. These mechanisms maximize circulation of blood and lymph throughout the body. This relieves tension and stress, decreases recovery time and soreness, improves immune function and increases range of motion. Compress it out.
6. Infrared Sauna

In general, there are two distinct types of saunas: the traditional Finnish sauna and the ‘new-age’ infrared sauna. The traditional sauna heats you up from the outside-in using fire, gas or electricity (150-200°F).
Infrared saunas, however, use infrared radiation to penetrate deep within your tissues under your skin at lower temperatures (110-150°F). It quite literally bakes you from the inside-out! The perk of this is greater potential for sweating and detoxification.
Both saunas offer relaxation and stress reduction, sweating and relieving aches and pains, but the benefit of infrared is the intense heat entering the core of the body. You can also last much longer in infrared saunas vs traditional— allowing you to achieve a greater detox.
The key to remember is this: the sauna you will use the most is the best sauna, but if you wanna take the new-age route, hit up IR.
7. NAD+ IV Therapy

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide… yes, I know that’s a mouthful. This emerging nutrient IV therapy is a holistic, all-natural solution for those suffering from chronic disease and age-related health issues. But it’s not just for people with ailments because it can even boost overall wellness in healthy individuals. One of the biggest proponents in the wellness sector that I know of is Ben Greenfield. He’s quite the biohacker big on this NAD stuff.
NAD+ is basically the energy currency in our body— it’s one of the most important nutrients. It exists in every single one of your cells and works more chemical reactions than any other vitamin-derived molecule. When the molecule has oxidized and becomes inactive, it is known as NADH, but in its active form, it is known as NAD+. NAD+ is a coenzyme of the Vitamin B3 (or niacin) that activates reactions after binding to protein molecules. That’s why I like to stack 500mg-1g of niacin prior to the sauna for mitochondrial fitness.
Anyways, when you get an IV of this stuff you basically are increasing your lifespan like crazy. As we age, our levels of NAD+ decrease significantly, so eating a balanced diet, exercising and keeping stress levels low really help keep NAD+ not bad. However, you can take it to another level with IVs. Most people only need 2-6 sessions to really benefit. Even after one drip session your body’s fortitude maximizes.
Unfortunately you cannot ingest it through capsules or powders or potions because it is poorly absorbed through our digestive tract. That’s why IV is key.
I recommend doing it at least once a month for optimal aging. It’ll revitalize skin, digestion, amp-up cognition and energy, and slow aging!
